MOUNT DORA, Florida – June 2, 2025 – Victory Powerline Services (VPS) recently finalized a comprehensive auditing and inspection initiative for a major utility in the Southeastern U.S. The project focused on assessing over 500 pedestals and pad-mount transformers that had been compromised by hurricane-driven storm surges.
Spanning several months across Florida’s Gulf Coast, this initiative addressed equipment corrosion in high-density areas. The utility identified a critical need to swap out secondary bars damaged by saltwater exposure. Additionally, the project allowed the utility to modernize its infrastructure by installing flood-sealed components designed to meet updated coastal durability standards.
“Recognizing that storm-surge damage is a leading cause of outages, the utility took a strategic and proactive stance on these repairs,” noted David Koczan, VPS Job Site Manager. “In order to give project management immediate, real-time visibility, it was our responsibility to optimize the inspection process by supplying digital and visual data for each asset.”
This collaboration builds on Victory’s previous successful engagement during Hurricane Debby. In that instance, the Mount Dora firm served as storm coordinators, managing contractor workflows and outage clearances. Their consistent delivery during high-pressure events has solidified Victory’s status as a dependable partner for utility oversight.
“Our technicians performed detailed assessments of primary elbows, secondary bars, and bleeder wires, documenting any evidence of leaks or environmental wear,” Koczan explained. “Following the initial phase, we identified and managed 153 ‘go-backs’ to ensure every unit matched the utility’s rigorous technical standards.”
By utilizing proprietary digital auditing platforms, Victory mapped every transformer location, archived before-and-after imagery, and maintained detailed repair logs to protect the utility’s budget.
Victory provided a live dashboard that allowed utility managers to monitor inspection statuses and general progress remotely. This high level of transparency not only improved project flow but also simplified the documentation process required for storm recovery cost claims.
“Our teams operate with a utility-first mindset, acting as neutral auditors to ensure every dollar is spent efficiently,” said Adam Prosser, CEO of ATK Energy Group.
